Sky Digital problem

When I press the green arrows to search each channel it says that further schedule information is not available. I then press it a few minutes later and it will be OK. Sometimes when I am on a channel, for example Sky Sports 1, and I press the arrows it tells me whats on RTE instead of Sky Sports 2, etc. Also, when I am in services, TV guide, etc. and i then press backup to exit it says searching for listings and it than goes to the customer service channel.

I have checked the signal strenght and quality and it is normal. Any idea's what the problem is?

Why don't you give sky a call, i'm sure they can sort it out easy enough.

By the way, you said you checked the signal level etc...
    How did you do that???

A forced download of the system software might work for you.

Plug out the box, take out your Sky viewing card, hold down the back-up button on the box (not the remote), hold it down til all the lights on the front light up, let go then, and wait til they go out again (anything upto 10-15 mins) Put the card back in and turn the box back on.

Should sort it. Tell us how you got on.

I had a similar problem with Sky Sports 1. It was listed as one of my favourites. When cycling through the favourite using the blue button it was appearing before RTÉ 1 and did not have a channel number.

Turns out that Sky have swapped the UK Sky Sports 1 for an Irish version. This messes up the favourites and can cause some of the problems that you have seen. I fixed it by inserting a UK FTV card, removed it from the favourites menu and reinserted the regular subscription card. All has been well since.

If Sky Sports 1 was one of your favourites this may be what is causing the problem. If so and you don't have a FTV card, you may be able to remove it by inserting your normal card upside down to get the FTA EPG. If not, I think a call to Sky is the way to go.

DMC, If I plug out the box there is no power to turn the lights on so I presume you meant plug it back in? I held dow back-up anyway for about 20 seconds and the lights never came on.

Shane, I just gave Sky Sports 1 as an example but its actually the same with them all. Also, I don't use favourites.

It is the backup button on the box you must hold down when plugging back in the box, not the one on the remote.
