I heard a shipment sunk somewhere in the south china sea but thats no reason...

Brand spanking new 'for the consumer' anti-dumping laws...

Be sure that the prices that u'r looking at arent that of ECC SDRAM as there is a huge price difference between non ECC and ECC. It should be possible to pickup 128 PC100 SDRAM for £90 - £110, shop around.

Not as iffy as my 'mobius-brand(tm)' homemade RAM.
If it burns down your house don't come crying to me...

Well according to the memory distributor that our company uses the chip producers have upped the pricing on all chips so expect prices to rise over here. It also has to do with Goldstar and another major producer of chips merging. Basically they are controlling the price by controlling supply.

Part of this rise is due to the anti-dumping laws, but a much more significant part of the rise (and thankfully much more short-term) is due to the sinking of a ship off Singapore which was carrying several months output from one of the largest RAM factories on earth. A lot of this current rise in prices can be traced to dealer nervousness of a shortage due to this... Normal service should be resumed in a couple of months at the latest smile.gif

Sh|t I've got an Amiga here that won't run anything cos it's 1/2 meg chip ram expansion is busted. And that originally cost £150.

BTW I just love saying "for the actual sake of fu(k!"

Chill kiddies there is more than enough to go round smile.gifAs far as I know the ram is 100mhz,but I could be wrong.I dont think it matters what speed the ram is as if your MB will only take it at 66mhz,it will still work.where if your board works at 100mhz,it will use the ram at 100mhz.My email addy changed to redmondj@oceanfree.net.

These are the best prices I can do at the moment as ram is getting costly again.
    128MB EEC ram autoswitching -£120
    256MB EEC ram autoswitching -£240
Autoswitching means that it will work in any system.either 66 or 100 mhz.

£240 is a bit more than the £120 that you claimed! tongue.gif

    Venom,

Can you not get non ECC ram ????? there is almost 30% difference between that and non ECC ram and its pointless having ECC ram in a desktop system.
