OK, so I may be getting old, but I couldn't help feeling let down by the gig last night.

Don't know who te support act were, but it was just a bunch of blurry noise from where I was, and then when the band finally came on I thought I'd accidentally crashed an Oasis gig!

Kelly had long shaggy hair and HUE-AGE sideburns, and with the sound the way it was he really sounded like Liam Gallagher too.

I have to confess I didn't get around to getting the new album yet, but I had expected more of what was on the last one (how wrong I was) and endeed up not recognising anything from the first 30 mins which again all seemed to be noise and nothing more. (damn, I'm getting old).

Then there was some of the more familiar stuff, but they destroyed my favourite track (Just Looking) by playing it too slow.

The whole time I don't think he said more than 10 words to the crowd, and I think that probably affected the atmosphere quite a bit.

I made it to Handbags & Gladrags and the missus and I decided to have a breather out the front and ended up just leaving there and then and getting a taxi before the main throng left.

Strangely enough the highlight of the night was the english dude who was the priest in Ballykisangel with what I hope was his teenage daughter (either that or he's been taking his old role as a catholic preist a little too litterally). He looked like a bag of hammered sh!t (to quote Whistler from Blade)
really old looking and worn down, I guess the years haven't been kind.

Did anyone else go? am I just an old fart?

I saw them at Slane last year, and didn't think too much of them, but I put it down to the excess beer in the 6 hours before they came on stage that I was there.

    oh, well.

Well obviously you don't have an interest in Stereophonics. The support act was JJ72, which were good and they played new songs from the new album. The first 30 mins was songs from the new album, JEEP, WGA and P&C. I have the whole set list here. Kelly has had his hair long for the past year and a half if not longer, if you went to Slane you would have seen it.

Just looking is always played slower because of the main riff in it. I've seen them 19 times so far and it has never changed each time I see them. They always seem to be getting better each time they come around. I'm off to Cardiff to see them, might get to Birmingham too depending on time off from work. If anyone wants the set list posted I will.

Thats impressive, i've never seen them, loved Word Gets Round but thought no album since has been as good. Good to see JJ72 are still hanging in there after lossing Hilary and the 2nd album performing badly despite being pretty good.
