Philips Onis 300

I got a cordless (landline) phone over two months ago, a philips onis 300. For the first few weeks I could send SMSs fine, now I can't. I can receive SMSs and make and receive phone calls; I just can't send the SMSs. To the best of my knowledge no settings on the phone have changed, and in any case, I've verified them with eircom. Eircom have tested the line, but of course they couldn't find a problem, and insisted that nothing has changed on their end.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I assume the message centre number programmed in to the phone is correct. I would also confirm that the text format is set to SMS if there is an option to change it.. Next option would be to connect a different phone to your line to see what happens?

The number is correct, as verified with eircom. It doesn't give an option to specify a text message that isin't SMS. And unfortunately I don't have another handset to test. Eircom did mention something about other people with the same phone reporting the same problem, but by that stage they were just trying to end the call. Obviously they only support the phone that they sell.

It looks like I'll try to return the phone to argos and either get a different one or get my money back. Bloody annoying though, since it worked perfectly for a month and a half. Can't help thinking that they've changed something minor on their end since I've tried everything on my end.
