Has anybody got any idea how to resolve the below error.
The message always comes up about a minute after I open Internet Explorer and then reboots my PC.

"Windows must restart because the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly. "

When the window telling you that u have 60second before shutdown press start go to RUN command, type in shutdown -a and press enter

Update your virus scanner, and/or go to windows update and get their fix for the W32 blaster worm virus.

    MSblast.exe

It's an annoying worm, but it's easily fixable.

First of all, go into Settings>Control Panel> Administrative tools.

Go into Services, then find Remote Procedure Calls (RPC), right click it and go to properties.

Click the Recovery tab, and set "First Failure" "Second Failure" and "Subsequent Failure" to "Take no Action"

This will prevent your computer shutting down.

Now you must remove the worm with this removal tool.

Then finally you must patch your WinXP with this:

or going into processes kill msblast.exe r teekid.exe whichever is there

    then run regedit
    go to
    local machine > software > microsoft >windows >current version > run

and take out the values that point to any of the above files

then go into your windows system folder and del the above files .

once you do that go the the microsoft website and dl the patch so that it dosnt do that again

Patch first, then remove the worm. Otherwise you'll just be going around in circles :)
