So his Rose of Tralee performance was deemed a success and his 'quiz' show was watchable, but has this guy got a big future career in television. He maybe sharp but he's not one bit pretty, surely this will come against him? When I've heard him on the radio he tends to come across quite patronising at times. It's only a matter of time before he says something that will land him in trouble and/or court.

Fits the profile of Eamonn Dunphy exactly, and he's still going....

If RTE continue to give him shows like that, he will never have a career in TV.

It will become known as a case of RYANITIS. (Gerry Ryan and Ryan Turbirty).

Eamo is only bearly on the TV. Who bets The Dunphy Show is axed? or at least moved to Saturdays?

That interview with Germain Greer was huuuu uuuuh shudder shudder Creepy old man chats up Feminist shudder.

He's fantastic on the wireless. The man's got a wicked sense of humour.
I didn't think a whole lot of his quiz show on tv though.

I agree, Patch. I used to be a Gift Grub (Today FM) man, but I've been going over to 2FM more and more lately for that half hour for Ryan's paper review..... its usually very funny stuff.

On a side note, Gift Grub has been terrible lately - less sketches, and more scripted interviews between Ian and one or two of the celebs.... very often they aren't even vaguely funny.

Although I don't agree with a lot of what he says I enjoy his show on 2FM in the mornings. Not too sure about him on TV though.

No you're not the only person to hate the guy. I can't stand him. I think he is a self-opinionated egotistical prick who is incapable of accepting anybody else's opinions. His radio programme is cringe-worthy and don't even get me started on his television programme!

You either hate him or love him.

Which is good for a TV/Radio Personality.

my sister cann't stand him on the radio, I like his show.

I hate his radio show, but i think hes quite good on the TV. He was 100x better than Marty on The Rose and that quiz show wasnt the worst thing in the world.

I thought he was pretty good on the Rose, though I haven't seen any of his quiz show.

I think he's pretty good on the radio also, though nothing really special.

Agreed, his radio show in the mornings is great. The quiz show is a bit weak, I'm starting to get tired of Mario Rosenstock's voice-overs of the guests. Off-topic but did you know he used to play the alcoholic Dr. O Hanlon in Glenroe!
Still things will only get better for Ryan, it's about time RTE got some new faces.
