    now basically i get the jist of it , but how do i fix it , i uninstalled the game cos it was a higher version and i wanted to go back to the old 0one , the reason being i dont play the game online and everytime i tried to play it it kept connecting to the internet.......

    if you're using a NOCD crack, delete it and install the latest point release. It should fix the problem and you don't need the CD to play single player anymore.

    If you dont want it to connect to the internet there are ways around it, putting a certain URL in your HOSTS file works (ask Ronin)

    im not usin any cracks its a fully legal copy iv had since the game came out i never had this error b4

    still afaik its a problem with quake3.exe being the wrong version, and when you install a new point release it installs the correct quake3.exe as well as the required .pk3's so installing the latest point release should fix it.

    if you want to go back to an older version, you have to remove the newer pak files that get installed into baseq3. so if pr 1.32 adds pak9.pk3 to baseq3, delete it if you want to go to the one before that, so on and so forth
