Intresting site i stumbled across. The Broadband Stakeholder Group is the UK governments 'key advisory group on broadband'. They have recently produced a number of maps that detail the UKs current and near-future broadband rollout of fixed line broadband coverage.

I wonder what a similarly made map of ireland would look like. Rather sparse id imagine :). A picture paints a thousand words and all that.

The IDA are in the process of drafting a 'Broadand Map of Ireland'.

Not sure of the finer details though - when, where, etc.

Frofas made an effort at mapping Ireland's infrastructure. Its available at www.infrastructure.ie Not great really.

A recent additon is the text Town Profiles - read the telecommunications section of a few of them - gives the impression that we are at the forefront of communications technology. Of course they only discuss backhaul!
