I think it involves something called an "Amp test"...

You have to complete the amp test in triplicate and submit your dossier to the Recycle bin in 3 working days.

or you can buy us many many beers at the next beer bash! that helps!! :)

seriously im not sure myself, i think you must become a regular poster (no posting drivel either) then when a mod retires from a form there is a community vote of some sort.

Either that or an intricuate battle to the death involving a flaming ring of fire and chainsaw's :D

    2 n00b ent0r, 1 n00b leave!

i've had some serious doubts about the screening process before, i've often found myself looking at a newly appointed mods post & thinking to myself "how the **** did this asshole get a position of authority?"

You have to give DeVore lots of money and sign away certain constitutional rights.
No but seriously the only way one becomes Mod is to be seen to be particularly helpful and knowledgeable in a particular forum and a point to note people who ask to be a moderator almost never get to be one.

    Good Luck

Pretend you are the mod of the board you want to mod, and eventually people will get annoyed and make you mod.

You could also suggest a board and if there's no one else with sufficient knowledge on the boards subject, you get appointed a mod. I think that's how RunFree became the Self Defence mod.

AFAIK There is a rule that if you suggest a forum you exclude yourself from being moderator of that forum unless you're already a mod, It's in the admin forum somewhere.

Why people want to become a mod is beyond me....but there you go...All the answers you seek are on the admin board...do a search, its not that hard.
