Environmental accounts for Ireland

An excel spreadsheet containing "environmental accounts" for Ireland going back to 1994 appeared on the cso.ie website today.

It shows for example a reducing trend in CO2 emissions from the farming forestry and fishing sectors due to "sequestration by forestry" credits.

If only Ireland has Italian or German forestry levels, the country would be in Kyoto credit!

PS Surely it is about time that the cso published numbers in an open standard - ie XML

While it is bad enough for the Irish government to be wasting a fortune on Microsoft software rather than using open standards platforms like every intelligently managed country, is it too much to ask that they stop forcing the rest of the population into the same Microsoft moneysucking trap?

.XLS - just use www.openoffice.com instead gnu/open source
it will also edit word / powerpoint docs and of course you can save them in .PDF format

I take your point on the "one microsoft way" mindset
This file contains links to other files. Should they be updated?
