    Hi

I want to get sky+ and a second box with a mirror sub installed, I rang Sky and they broke it down as:

    Sky+ Box €299
    Installation €75
    Second Box Free
    Installation €15

I asked if I could choose the brand of my second digibox, but the sales rep got strappy and said why should I since it is free.

I rang a local installer, but they quoted me over €100 extra. I have heard that people have had some difficulties with the installation of boxes by sky, but money talks, is there anyway I can choose the box ang get a good install at a resonable price?

As dmeehan says the install is €75 if you are an existing Sky customer and €180 otherwise.

As far as I am aware the reason that the second box is free is that they use your existing one.

I'm afraid you get what you pay for, if you pay the lesser amount to sky then you dont get to choose your box. Dont be surprised if the sky installer asks for extra money on the day as it sounds like the sky rep has mis quoted, remember three cables will have to be run.

Thanks guys just one other query I have a TV/Satellite wall plate in the room where sky+ is being installed, does sky+ need a second feed, meaning would I need another sat wall plate or can I buy a double sat wall plate.

Yes, Sky+ requires two feeds. Not only will you need another wall plate, you will need a cable from the dish to the new wall plate.
