    1. Face Off - 3.5/5
It's funny watching this these days and having to suppress the urge to shout BAN CASTOR TROY! Some great bits and an interesting central theme.

    2. Matrix Reloaded - 4/5
I saw this in the cinema first and got the DVD out to see if I still liked it and by god I do. Ok it's primarily an effects film but what effects and they enhance, rather than distract from, the fairly good plot.

    3. Welcome to Collinwood - 2/5
Bleh. Occasionally funny but ultimately not worth the effort. If your going to rent it cause George Clooneys in it then think again.

    4. Terminator 3 - 2.5/5
Effects film without the decent plot. Too many loose ends.

    5. Ice Cold in Alex - 4/5
A true classic which shows that just because a film is ancient and in black and white doesn't mean it's going to suck. And the central theme is about the quest for cold beer \o/

    Finding Nemo - 3/5
Was expecting it to be much funnier. Disappointing. Some funny parts but overall pretty forgettable.

    Kill Bill Vol 1 - 4/5
Good action flick, ultra-cool. Nice and violent. Yum!

    Igby Goes Down - 4/5
Some really great acting in this. Great cast. Tad boring in some parts but overall pretty good. Reminded me of Catcher in the Rye a bit.

    Spirited Away - 4.5/5
Great film. Beautiful. Great story. If you've seen it you'll know what I mean :)

    Suicide Circle - 3.5/5
Some great scenes, overall could have been better. Talk of sequel(s) may improve the story. Nice and gory in some parts. Great opening scene though.

Last 5 films I saw were...

    Hana-Bi - 5/5
Absolute masterpeice by Takeshi Kitano. He's easily one of the best film-makers out there. Definetly going to try and get hold of more of his films.

    Boys Don't Cry - 5/5
Again, a masterpeice. Not only a harrowing true story, but an extremely well made film, with some fantastic cinematography and thoroughly stunning acting.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within - 4/5
I quite enjoyed this. Very well animated, and now seeing it after all the hype has died down, I'm very pleasantly suprised by the film. Great voice acting, especially by Donald Sutherland.

    Dead Or Alive - 3.5/5
Ultra-voilent film about a hate-triangle between Chinese Triads, Japanese Yakuza, and a vigilant Cop. Bizarre ending. Miike Takashi is definetly a favorite director of mine as of recently, but I find he kinda let himself down with this effort. Not a bad film by any stretch of the imagination, but just not up to scratch with his fantastic work.

    The Happiness Of The Katakuri's - 5/5
Another Miike Takashi film, this time a bizarre musical, with some some ultra-cheesy song&dance routines, hilarious black comedy, murder and cover-ups, great sub-plot about the daughter of the family falling in love with an inept con-artist, and some of the most down-right hilarious stop-motion animation scenes in history. Utter masterstroke of comic absurdity.

All in all, last films I've watched have mostly ruled.

I've watched 5 more films since I posted.

    1. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre(2003) - 3/5
This was actually better than I expected although the whole thing is a bit obvious and the characters all seemed to have taken an overdose of stupid pills.

    2. Cast Away - 2.5/5
Third time I saw it and every time I see it the score gets lower.

3+4. Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc/ Temple of Doom - 5/5
My favourite trilogy ever until maybe ROTK comes out, and the extras are quite good too.

    5. The Lion King - 5/5
My favourite classically animated Disney film

    Big Fish - 4/5

    - very impressed with this one! Same old wacky Tim Burton fairytale stuff but apart from seeing the ending a mile off, was very good!

    Mindhunters - 3/5

    - Was planned to go straight to video but due to positive test screenings in the US - they are planning to release it in cinemas over there in the next few months. Fairly good - kinda like Identity but without the crappy twist at the end. Very over-the-top but good brainless fun!

    Mystic River - 2/5

    - Ending of the film let me know but first hour or so was great. Sean Penn was OK (Tim Robbins was better) in it but i still stand by my opinion that Bill Murray deserved that Oscar for 'Lost In Translation'

    Shrek 2 - 2/5

    - Was OK (wasn't a huge fan of the first one though) but it definantly was not near as good as the first one. Apart from Antonio Bandaras 'Puss N Boots' and the Cops rip-off scene 'Knights' (as well as the Pinochio wearing women's underwear scene which is being used in trailers), it's a bit of a one joke film.

    Dead End - 3/5

    - This one suprised me! Not your typical horror film - great idea for a film with some funny moments as well as some creepy scenes.
