    I have a G3 laptop
    No problem with wireless card for pc - just plug and play
    anot so with G3 - need advice on how to configure G3 for wireless card

    you'll need to give a little more information that - how about the OS you're running and what the wireless card is ?

    Apples wireless networking technology is proprietary, and is called Airport.

    No other wireless card will work (not that I know of, but somebody might have tried!) with a mac. It's actually one of the better wireless networking techs since it's tightly integrated with the operating system and hardware. I use it myself all the time with little or no difficulties.

    Btw, you say G3 laptop...support for Airport was only introduced in the 1998/99 series ibooks and powerbooks afaik, so if your laptop is older than that you might be out of luck...

    My G3 operates os 9.2 - it has airport capability

    But I thought that a standard pcmcia wireless modem card could be used to connect to my netgear wireless bridge?
