Nanowrimo is the write-a-novel-in-a-month project, every November. It's at http://www.nanowrimo.org and it's as much fun as a barrel of monkeys.

The idea is that you just go for it baldheaded and write a 50,000-word novel in the month of November, cheered on by the thousands of others around the world who are working on their own 50k-ers.

That is a sorely tempting challenge. I have two days to decide...

So, anybody else doing this this year?

Every year I say I will, but I've never done it yet. Has anyone completed it before? I'd be interested in hearing how people got on.

I entered and finished a few years ago but haven't had the time to do it since then. Giving it a shot this year though :)

Sounds like a nice idea, but all the time spent writing this quick novel could be spent working on the aul writing to-do list.

I'm thinking about giving it a go.

Almost 1,700 words a day every day though, that is quite a lot.

My biggest problem with writing is finishing something once I have started it though, so maybe this is a great way of doing it.

I'm considering giving it a go but not sure with college. have a bunch of 3,000 word essays I'm gonna have to do over the next few weeks. Though really it wouldn't add too much of a work load, if I wrote 2,000 words a day it would definitely get me finished on what I'm working on now.

    Hmmm. what to do?
I did enter it before in 2006 (i think, might have been 2005) and finished.
