q2 problem on games3

    myself and junkie are trying to play q2 on games3. basically, when we both connect our pings are 600. now we've tried qw which is also on games3 and it works fine. we share a dsl conn btw.

    we are both using rate 4000 max_fps 60.

    whats goin on?

    oh, and we cant play q3 on games2 anymore now cos pb kicks 2 users sharing an ip, lol

    pb doesnt kick you for sharing an IP, it kicks for sharing a PB GUID, which comes from your CD key. If you get a second CD key for the other computer it should work.

    nahm we both have our own seperate versions of q3, thats not it

    as discussed with Dar they have it on all q2 servers not just games3.

    q2 fps is linked to packets sent, like qw. maxfps 60 is possibly too much for rate 4000 lower one or raise the other or both. that might be it.
