    Download Spybot Search and Destroy:

Once installed, update it and then do a search for spywere, then 'fix selected problems'. This program is excellent for getting rid of spywere and you'll be supprised just how much crap is on a typical machine

    Its free btw :)

You could also try Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

I usually find that if one of them doesn't find it then the other one will

while you are at it install zonealarm personal firewall... good at stopping these things getting in in the first place!

Assuming you are of a fairly techy nature it's usually easy enough to find them with a program called regcleaner (www.regcleaner.com). just look for the suspicious entry and delete as appropriate. (Making sure you do a full backup of the registry first of course, and you know for syure what it is.;)).

Most diallers these days have a registry entry that will restore anything you delete (DUN entries, bookmarks, desktop icons) from a hidden folder every time you reboot, making it hard to get rid of them.

as has already been said, spybot, ad-aware and most recently Norton AV 2004 will all search out and remove these registry entries and their accociated files.
