Different NTL company to the one feeding Dublin cable.

Perhaps Sky or NTL know something about the Northern political processes David Trimble doens't?

A friend was once told on trying to get a flight from England to BELFAST...
"I'm sorry we have no flights to the Irish Republic on Sundays"

An English mailorder company last August was more cautious..

"Erm, Limerick? Would that be in the Republic rather than N.I.?"

They've just selected the wrong one. They were showing the ROI feed in parts of England for a while a few years ago.

I really can't give an answer as to why the Irish feed for Sky is playing on the analogue network in the North - whether it was selected by mistake or is being deliberatly played out, I don't know. Sounds like a potentially political situation so I'm gonna stay right out, thank you very much!!!

I am not trying to cause a "potentially political situation" I was only looking for a reason I rang NTL and they wouldn't give me an answer.

    Cheers

Sorry. I'm sure they just have the wrong service selected. As far as I know, the only difference in content is the advertisements. Would I be right in saying that you are getting ads for ROI with prices in Euro and specific to ROI, Mickyperry?

Thats it. It is the only problem. You see an offer rush for a pen and then its a 1800 or 1850 number and the price is in Euros.

    Bingo waste of time.

If they had Irish Programming on now that would be a different matter.

    Mickyperry:
Just been on to a Belfast headend technician. He is going to have a look at the Sky One analogue feed and to see what feed it is. And you are right, it should be the UK feed which makes sense. I'll update when I have some news/info

Just watched an ad break on Sky One as I spoke on the phone to a Belfast headend tech. He was watching Sky One on both the analogue and digital feeds in his headend. His analogue and digital feeds were identical and were completely different to what I was seeing. So either, there was a fault that has been rectified or else that is what Sky are sending out. Or it could be something else. If I wasn't smothering with a cold, I'd probably know what that something else is. :(
