    Of an evening, I tend to open a forum and start with the oldest thread that has new posts and go from there.
    So, what i'd like is a link not just to 'next thread' but incorporate the firstnew arrow thing that links to first unread post to give a "new post in next thread' link...

    (a) subscribe to threads you are interested in.
    (b) when you log on, browse these first from your User CP.
    (c) then and only then, go forum by forum.
