Viewing Sky around the house

I have just moved house and transferred my Sky sub. It is now setup in the living room of my house. In my previous house I wired two other rooms using coax cable. However I have noticed that there are tv points in a lot of rooms (presumeably for cable). Can I use these to distribute the satellite signal througout the house? If so how? If not any better ideas?

    Cheers,
    Dave.

    Hi Dave,

You need to determine where these TV points run to. It would usually be up in the attic. If there is a TV point in the sitting room (near the Sky box) it should be a simple enough matter of running a signal from the RF2 output of the Sky box to this TV point and then routing it to whichever points you want up in the attic. You may need a signal booster to do this (in my case a simple splitter gave a perfect reception on two other TVs).

You might also consider using an amp like the T140 which would mean you could have remote channel change in the other rooms.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I had to buy a new remote a while ago. I ended up buying a proper one from Power City which also came with an amp - a little pyramid and box to plug the coaxial cable into.

I'll give it a go and see what happens.

    Dave.

I tried this before, simply plugging the output of the box into the wall instead of the tv, then going into a different room and plugging in the tv and volia - a fairly good signal. Our house was already wired up so all the outputs came from the same signal though.
