Release Dates

How are Game for getting games on the official release date that they have instore?
Im looking to get Viewtiful Joe when its released on friday.

I'd never trust their release dates, they're not updated half as regularly as they should be. I still sometimes see delayed games on their release date charts slated for release weeks beforehand, but which never appeared - they still leave them on the chart though. Or high-profile games that everyone knows have been delayed are still up there with their original dates. Asking the staff isn't much use either, you generally get the 'I just work here' type response.

The only source I'd consider to be reasonably reliable is http://www.eurogamer.net/release-dates.php.

All they get is a marketing update to tell them whats out when so they just go by the sheet.

Actually GAME is notorious for making up release dates for games they don't have accurate information for, rather than just going TBC. They also tend to update their dates very irregularly, so you get games that have slipped a couple of times but are still listed on the GAME release planner in their original date...

Well then either they're choosing not to pass on these "marketing updates" to their customers, or (and I don't think I'm going out on a limb here) these updates aren't worth ****. Either way the fact remains that their charts are frequently and consistently wrong. Now this may have changed recently, since I pay them no attention any more... but at a guess it probably hasn't.

Seeing as all they do is sell games, is it too much to ask that they have an up-to-date list faxed to them every day?

tbh the ive only used GAME 3 times in the past to check on upcoming games and they were right everytime i can only speak from personal experience they seem fairly ok

ive herd the horror stories alright but ive never had any major hassles with them b4 (i guess im lucky)

But best advise to you Seamusmc is to scout around depends on where you are if your living in a major city (like dublin or cork) you can check the other GAME store that are littered around the city and see what they say.

What i've heard (and what it says in the GAME marketing update) is that it is out on friday. NOM: UK has nov 24th down, but that has to be a typo because thats a monday. Hope its out on fri cos it looks hella good!
