building CD storage.

I have had a casual look around for fittings that I can use to build my own CD shelves. I've a vague recollection of seeing an Irish DIY TV programme and they built a PC desk.
The fittings for the CD were screwed to one side. It was up to the fitter to make the shelves wide enough.
I was hoping to build some CD storage around my sound system as well as some storage for the PC.
Has anyone come across such a thing? I know I could make lots of shelves, but I would prefer to have the CDs displayed horizontally. Bad neck u know ;)

Do you mean horizontally like A or B? I think the best racks are the custom made ones with solid frames, I imagine you would get them quite cheap in a lot of the big DIY / furniture places.

I mean option B so that I can read the CD label without having to hold my head at an uncomfortable angle. Have about 300 music CDs and it can be a nuisance finding a CD.
