Hi there, I had a little accident the other day and I broke my beloved guitar. Anywhoo I am going to have to buy another one so I was wondering could anyone help me out by suggesting makes etc (my old one was an Gibson). I was thinking of getting a semi- acoustic one but again not sure bout makes and prices. If anyone could help me out I'd much appreciate it

    Thanks in advance:confused:

It fell on the floor last week, I didnt see anything wrong with it so I put it in its case, when I took it out on Monday the neck was snapped (dont know how I didnt see that). Quite annoyed at my self cause it was my first guitar and I've had it for years

If it's a Gibson, a real Gibson, then it's definitely worth getting fixed. Give Derrick Nelson a ring @ 01 4942741. I've seen him perform miracles on snapped necks. He's definitely the best luthier in Dublin. If you're not keen on getting it fixed PM me and I might buy it off ye :D

Sure Ill give him a call and see if it can be fixed and the cost. If I decide not to go ahead with it ill give you a shout

    Cheers:)

Hey nice guitar but I think I'll just stick with an acoustic one. Though the colour of yours is quite appealing

I was similarly going to offer to take it off your hands, but your prolly best off getting it fixed,

hey i maybe interested in selling it but just to mention (cos i dont tink u may know) it is an acoustic guitar, (Epiphone) so if your still interested give me a shout

There's a big, big difference between Epiphone and Gibson. :D To be honest, Epiphone doesn't interest me and you should think very carefully about how much it is worth before investing money in a repair. Perhaps you are better off just writing it off and going for a new guitar???

Had it been a Gibson, then definitely it would have been worth repairing.

Well to be honest I dont know a hell of alot both guitars, all i know is that My old guitar has a little thing on the top saying Gibson on it so I just assumed it was a real Gibson

Epiphones have Gibson in vertical text across their truss rod cover, and a headstock the same shape as a bum. Gibson's have Gibson in decal or inlay at the top of the headstock, and the headstock's top looks like an open book.

Gibsons don't have Epiphone written anywhere on them... Epiphones do, even though the truss rod cover might say Gibson :D
