Anyone ever see John Huston's "The Dead". Was it any good? What was the main plot?

Sorry but eh, is that a joke? If not then, well um, it's a lot like James Joyce's story 'The Dead' and like most things Joyce IMHO it's very boring and pretentious. I only watched it cos it was Hustons final film.

However I'd imagine if you like Joyces work then you'll like it cos it's always got high ratings whereever I've read about it. But as a piece of standalone cinema it is VERY dull (and I've watched it twice just in case I missed the point first time around).

Just saw it now. That was an awful film. Completely boring and dragged out with no real point. The whole point actually was about the mortality of people, and how sad it is when ppl die for the family and friends they leave behind.
