Sirius 2 - Can this be picked up in Ireland. I ve checked the Sirius website and Sirius 2 BSS Europe looks good. Has anyone managed to pick up this bird yet..

What type of receiver are you using? I persume you have a motorised dish?

Lemon TV Box - And No - I move it manually.
Box is pretuned with stations from different satellites so i leave it on a particular station and move the dish. I can see the TV when moving the dish so i know if anything is beginning to come in. I move it to either Arabsat 26 E or Astra 1 19E at the weekends for the soccer. I have their coordinates marked so very easy to locate again and again but i have never found Sirius as of yet

It can definately be got in your neck of the woods. The Strongest station on that satellite is RTL9 11373 Vertical 3260 5/6, so this should be the station you have programmed when looking for it. Moving the dish by hand is not an easy thing to do when you are picking up digital satellite because you have to be so accurate, especially for the less popular satellites. A good way of scanning postions is to use an analogue system where just by waving the dish about, sooner or later an analogue picture will pop up even if distorted, unlike digital which has to have all information before it can display a signal. If you do not have an old analogue system the best thing to do is work your way onto all the eastern satellites, starting with 19E, 16E, 13 E, 10E, 7E, 5E, at least by using this method you can narrow down your search.

Can somebody confirm if the freq below can be picked upwith a 80cm dish This channel is currently FTA and it shows Prem Football. This weekend it has The Man U and Leeds, Arsenal v Chelsea, The PPV game and the 4.05 Game on Sunday and also the Monday night Game.

i've tried a few times to pick this up on a 1m dish in Mayo but no luck yet.i'm putting a 1.2m dish up soon and if i have better luck i'll tell you.

Sirius 5 degrees east can be picked up with an 80cm dish on the east coast, a 1m dish is needed on the west. Tv Sports Romania is on the Sirius 2 satellite which is actually 4.8 degrees east, 0.2 of a degree might not seem alot but it is important in this instance. The highest signal strenght I have got on this channel is 48% so unfortunately a clear day is required for a good picture. But yesterday was perfect conditions and the United and Arsenal matches came in perfect. A 1.2m should be perfect for Mayo, the channel does not support auto program identification so the video and audio pids have to be entered manually or the channel will appear scrambled. Video PID = 1907 Audio Pid = 1911. An alternative to Tv sports Romania, is NTV turkey which shows a good lot of premiership football as well. This channel is on Eurasiasat 42 degrees east and can be picked up perfectly in Ireland using an 80cm dish. 11.988, 12800, 5/6. Hope this helps.

i thought i would have being able to get this channel as i'm able to get most of the FTA stuff but maybe i'll set it to 4.8e and see what i can get.it doesn't matter to much cause i can get NTV Turkey but you can't beat having a choice.
