Analog is less and depends on Cable/MMDS/Area

Allegedly the "basic" Digital pack is the same (price and content) on Digital Cable and Digital MMDS. (€28 approx)

Unless you are *REALLY* mad for ITV and C4, then Sky is better value on Family Pack (€27 approx).

    FREE!
Or great value with NO subscription: (55 Radio, ALL the BBC, TCM, Extreme Sport, U, Performance, Chart Hits, Vault, Pop, ClassicTV , Classic FM TV, Euronews, Sky NewsCNN, 25 shopping channels, ITV News, Motors TV etc).

Or get a UK card or Sub and have ITV, C4 and Five.

If you have Chorus Analog cable going past it is cheapest option possibly.

You don't especially need a Sky Digibox for Satellite, but it is only soluotuun for BBC interactive or Sky pay channels. If you get a Sky subsidies install you own all the gear from Day1 and can down grade after a month and cancel after a year and still have dozens of good Channels.

Depends what channels you really want.

If you allowed a dish (which can be moved to a different house) etc.

Or spend €200 more and have about 1100 TV (plus 700? Radio) on a 90cm motorised dish. I can get about 500 TV and 500 Radio on one fixed dish with 3 LNBs on it.

On analogue cable: You will at least be able to recieve RTE ONE, Network 2, TV3, TG4, BBC ONE Northern Ireland, BBC TWO Northern Ireland, UTV, Channel 4, Sky One, and Sky News. (In very few areas, the NI channels may be replaced by BBC ONE Wales, BBC TWO Wales, ITV1 Wales (HTV), and S4C Analogue).

On analogue MMDS: TV3, BBC ONE Northern Ireland, BBC TWO Northern Ireland, UTV, Channel 4, Sky One, and Sky News will at least be provided.

    Other channel vary by area.

I have the basic package along with a black box that gives my sky sports 1,2 & 3. It was installed last January and i've had to get them out twice to sort things!
I'm now thinkin of movin to Sky but unless they can give me the multi room viewin its gonna be no good.
What does the family pack entail as regards Movie channels, Sports and Music channels?
Do you get Utv/C4 with them?

    Cheers!

The problem with Satellite is that you can have as many rooms as you like as long as you all watch the same channel. You can even operate the remote from any room. (with a chooiice of extra gadgets).

If you want to watch 3 different Satellite channels at the same time then you need 3 receivers.

Only the channels that are encrypted need a card /sub. But if it was say Sky1, Skysport and SkyPremire then three subs would be needed.

If it was TCM, BBC1 and BBC2 then 3 receivers still but no subscription needed.

This is also true for DIGITAL Chorus/NTL. It is only the absymal quality analog (and not all the channels either) that can work without a box.
