    Help!

    Installing Suse 8.0

Went through the whole disk partitioning bit and so on...

Where you have to reboot, it starts going through the whole set up process but then it gets to here:

    Starting RPC portmap daemon done

    Starting SSH daemaon done

    Starting sound driver: intel8x0 done

    Restoring the previous sound setting

    The nothing happens...

I'm guessing there is some problem with soundcard or something but what should I do? What exactly is happening?
How do I get out of there?

    Thanks!

Oh forget it, solved that one ages ago.

I now have about ten even bigger problems to solve!

This installing linux business is a steep learning curve, be worth it eventually, I hope:cool:

    It is.

Installed Mandrake 9.1 here a few months ago - there's definitly a bit of work in getting everything running right, but consider it a worthwhile and educational experience.

    Good luck :)
