I'm sure they do read here. Almost everyone in the industry reads here (but they dont like to admit it... we're not posh enough to be seen dead on, dahhhlings

However in this case Netsource have been talking to me about advertising for some time so I'm afraid this isnt related to the recent outbreak of posts.

and Not that an advertising budget and media spend will dig them out of the hole their innate misunderstanding of PR got them into. Their recent ineptitude in communications and PR is reminiscent of DSS hearing about the lack of DART at the weekend after they had already bought their monthly tickets.

The end of the day, money is money..And certainly if they are prepared to hand over cash to advertise on boards all the better..

I just don't think the average visitor to boards will look at all the Netsource threads, see the Ad and think - Hmm, think I'll sign up with these guys...

I may be wrong however....Oh and I am not ashamed to say I use boards... I do use a handle, with a real name like Willy Tickler wouldn't you!!!:D

I am delighted that Netsource are now resorting to widepsread bribery where a simple communications strategy would have worked a treat a month back and cost feck all. What strikes me as amusing(and tragic) is that there is still no communications strategy and still no Fair Usage policy to communicate as part of that strategy.

I've only just noticed the actual subject line of this thread. heheh, I think James is taking the proverbial a bit.

Lets make one thing clear:

If Boards sells out, you will all be eating Regi-Burgers washed down with Boards Shakes and playing with your DeVore Action Figure.
All browsers will have Boards.ie *hardcoded* as the home page and the O_o eyes will stare down at you all from 30 foot high electronic billboards like Big Brother.

Trust me. There wont be any doubt about it.

In my opinion a Commercial forum will be more efficient than a banner...
Will you buy from Elara or Komplett, if they had only a banner?

But I guess it will cost more as they will need to have their own Patman or Jeanie, reading (You're doing that already, don't you...!) and replying !

It will clear up most of the traffic from Broadband and IOFFL!!

Yeah, I'm sick of bangin' on about the CI Boards and how much value for money they are. Komplett and Elara have made a fortune from them and despite me offering EVERY ISP IN THE COUNTRY 3 month free and no strings, noone took me up on it.

Komplett initially paid us in hardware for a 3 month trial... and weren't really sure how it would go. 3 months later they paid us hard cash for a year up front and my god but they have made that back!

Well... *shrug* Komplett and Elara are making hay while the sun shines!

Think having your own forum here is very risky if you dont spend a lot of time maintaining it, just look how fast people went from loving patmann and Komplett to a frency about missing stock and a...sorry cant say that word....webpage (me included!)
If NS actually went public here with coments they would be flodded with messages from angry customer, it would simply be too late me thinks!
I think two ISP's how have manged to use Boards to their advantage is IBB and UTV, hope they keep up the good work and i cant wait to leave NS for the best offer from one of these ISP's

Should anyone from NetFarce be reading this i just want to thank you for spending some of the money i am paying you for my crappy high ping connection on something usefull, however dont expect anyone to actually sign up with you after reading any of the posts here :horned:

hmm well its not much of a surprise that you need good consumer support to run a cumsumer interaction board well. And i don't think komplett got an unfair amouth of hassel for the feic ups recently, infact i think having a CI board ment that people where will to let them get their act together.

People still love Patman from Komplett, in fact I've seen people strongly defend them from individual complaint/flame. On the other hand if you have a LOT of people who dont like you well then you can either hide your head in the sand or take the pain and actually try to build bridges with your customers.

All the irish ISP's chose the former.

James I don't think making a joke about gay people being into fetishes is appropriate. Its this kind of stereotyping that makes people believe we are all into weird sexual practices and get sexual kicks from perverse things.
