Should RTE Network 2 rebrand to RTE TWO...

Today, RTE rebranded Network 2 to RTE Network 2...

Should it go the whole hog and return to its original name...

RTÉ Network 2 is a bit of a mouth full. RTÉ 2 would sound much better. with all these changes going on is something big about to happen regarding channel indentity. even the radio stations have new RDS tags. all displaying RTÉ

I agree with you Mossy, RTE Network 2 is far to long winded. I think RTE TWO would be much better.

RTÉ TWO reminds me of the Beechcombers, Film Board of Canada films and Hallas And Batchelor cartoons.

Dont want to go back there.

I feel it should remain Network 2 (and return to its original 1988 logo!)

I noticed last night on 2fm. I never knew it was RTE owned :rolleyes:

RTELyric is cropped up because most RDS channel ID's can only use a max of 8 charachters. RTELyric uses up all 8.

With regards to the Network 2 thing, I like RTE TWO, and I like Network 2. I do not like RTE Network 2! :f33r:

When I saw those new RDS tags, I had radio one on and thought i'd missed the Telly that came with my jeep...i was almost fiddling with the dials to get a picture...

The same bright spark is involved in this as in the "bugs" or dogs methinks

Where is the option for N2 or Network 2?

I amn't voting I like N2 the way it used to be.

Anyway what if RTE want to sell N2 off rebranding would have to occur yet again.

I liked the TWO from the mid 90's well more so the intro graphics and the tower and space ship grapics very cool.

I never like the 1988 RTE 2 LOGO.

The nicest one has to go to the current logo.

Anyway I thought they had new graphics for RTE Network 2. But no it's still N2. RTE Network 2 is only for Sport and Winning Streak. (Just to point out its RTE).

Yeah RTÉ Two needs new life alright. The have now put in place a Commissioning Editor for the channel but it is a bit late.

The channel has gone very stale - especially over the summer. Double bills of American shows at 9pm is lazy scheduling. Don't think I watched anything on it over the last few few months.I think the ratings show that too.

I hate their current idents / graphics package. It looks absolutely awful. The previous one with the comic intros and then transporting to the rotating green room worked much better and were much more fun and upbeat. The current ones are just weird and look very out of place.

I much prefer the new idents, N2 idents remain the most creative.
