I connected at 7:45, usual ping bouncing up n down 100-200ish.

Then at 8pm, in an instant and like magic, gaming bliss, near constant 30-40ish ping.

/me enjoys and hopes it lasts :D

Perhaps it was a strange event of fate that I was too busy to cancel today :D

And here's my own on Netsource:

    ping www.jolt.co.uk

Pinging clarity.jolt.co.uk [195.149.21.11] with 32 bytes of data:

    Reply from 195.149.21.11: bytes=32 time=45ms TTL=56
    Reply from 195.149.21.11: bytes=32 time=37ms TTL=56
    Reply from 195.149.21.11: bytes=32 time=48ms TTL=56
    Reply from 195.149.21.11: bytes=32 time=40ms TTL=56

    Ping statistics for 195.149.21.11:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 37ms, Maximum = 48ms, Average = 42ms

Pretty snazzy. Pings have been good all evening too!

Interesting... I wonder what they did. Probably best not to question it.

    Every P2P Program wont connect!

I'm trying to send something to my uncle over FTP on WS_FTP..
    nothing..

I checked them all, nothing will connect!!

Now if im wrong about this.. I apoligise..

but if they have blocked P2P... let me be the first to say WTF!!, LAME B*STARDS, HOW DARE YOU CON PEOPLE INTO YOUR SLIMY SERVICE, AND SHAME ON YOU FOR ALL THE MISERY YOU'VE CAUSED TO YOUR CUSTOMERS SINCE YOU'VE STARTED

They are just so lame, even if all the P2p programs do come back on.. their service is sad and pathetic..
Nobody should even consider considering going with them..

last month I wasnt even able to download 2GB, because speeds stayed at 1/2 KB Max .. I know that isnt the deal for everybody, but to treat any of your customers like that is shameful practise.

    F*CK THEM!!

Netsource changed at 8pm have they? Well I tell ya , they've changed allright... speeds dropping from 2k/sec to a crazy 1.28k/sec on compressed files as we speak! Charming! Let's open the bubbly! and I don't use to P2P crap , just ports other than 80(80).

This circus that is Netsource should never have been conceived!

I've used FTP, Kazaa and edonkey all tonight and had no problems. HTTP downloads unchanged too

Here's the vote from the Kerry jury.
FTP downloads @ 1.6k/sec, and web pages crawling.
Rebooted Modem and Firewall and its not a hardware problem.

And there was me thinking NetSource were good guys after they took the throttle off me.....
    Ping seems better 'tho :-)
Although it seems to take up ALL by bandwidth even sending one

Yep, P2P looks like its being throttled from here as well since yesterday.
Needs multi-threading on any download , each going at <2kbs to make it at least worthwhile.
Netsystem(satelite isp) did similar thing last year and they were then deserted !
Whats the point of paying the 67 a month now when its worthless.

I use Kazaalite, bit torrent, emule & ftp regularly without issues, my pings are generally crap with brief moments of quality.

Sadly i too am suffering thanks to this bunch of ****wits.the 512k line is basicly a 33.3kbs modem and thats flattery of the speeds im getting testing the bigfile.zip i get a whomping 1.70k while it slithers down to 1.0 pings to games servers jumping to 1000 and timing out to 300 tbh im not paying money for this ****ing load of ****e that they are supplying im paying for broadband not narrowband via a **** network

I would advise anyone experienceing froblems with netfarce to cancel their direct debits, then call netfarce and tell them you'll put it back when you're service is the full promised service.
I did this when i got throttled and its better than it ever was since.
They called me and tried to threaten and bull**** me but i said i would only pay for the portion of the service i get.
eg if my bandwith was cut in half i would pay half.
one quarter and i would pay one quarter.
After a bit of arguing they promised to sort it and its been great since.
They'll **** you if they can get away with it. so dont let them.
vote with your feet and wallet if you have to.

    A new low for me.

Your raw speed was 7061.25 bits per second which is the same as: 7.1 kilobits per second

19.8 minutes The time it would take you to download a 1 megabyte file at this speed.

I noticed a significant increase in speed today. Whatever they're doing is fine by me.

I'm still getting good pings and downloads in the 50k~ range. A question for those getting bad pings/speed: Did ye sign up as an actual business or as a "business"? Maybe that has something to do with it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 103 ✭✭LumoColor

My connection is for my business and I still get fooked over by em.

You dont have to be a buisness when they taking your moneh, and they also knowingly signed up residential users, if it was a business only service they would have asked for your certificate of registration before they signed u up (like UK business only ISP's do).

I got NetSoucre for my business and also convinced a small office I do tech support for to get NetSource. Had fun this evening when they rang me complaining their...ahem..Broadband was going slow. Three users sharing 1.7k of bandwidth.

Another Netsource business I know on the same exchange have had no problems.

Anyone ring them today to find out whats the story this time??
I'm going to read the riot act tomorrow!!

    Thats right lads.
    Sit there and take it.
    No wonder their ****ing you.
All you can do is complain here about your speed.
Take some action or it'll stay like that you know.
