I assume that you are in the original area i.e. Tallaght, Walkinstown....This offer is not valid for the new rollout in Lucan unfortunately :(

    Go for it!

At least in the short to medium term, cable is the best broadband going.

(In the long-term it is not so good as it does not handle large amounts of users in a small area well)

    another tip,
when your 1 year is up
ring them up, say you want to cancel, due to it costing too much
they will offer you 3 months free and then the rest of the 9 months for 20 euro again :)

Actually, with RADSL being sold with a 48:1 contention ratio, I think that cable might hold up pretty well in comparison.

(I'm guessing here, but I think the cable networks that had a reputation for being slow as more people were signed up may have had packet collision problems, because each cable segment was like a shared LAN cable, so you could see your neighbours packets. DSL signals, on the other hand, got their own private circuit to the exchange, and once there, got plugged into high capacity networks. Here in Ireland, DSL connections aren't being plugged into high capacity networks at the exchange, so DSL users are likely to see te effects of contention a lot sooner.)
