    Hi,

All, apologies, you've probably answered this a few times before ;)

I'm looking for a cheap but decent home DVD player (with MP3 playback).

I have a SONY MHC-NX3AV with the 5 channel inputs (why is it called 5.1?) It is important that make use of the 5.1 channels as I went to the bother of completely hidding all the cables when redecorating. That and multi-region.

Anyway what do you guys make of the JWIN JDVD500 available in powercity?

Would you recommend anything else for around the same money?

(a sony for the same money would reduce the no. of remotes for me)

    features here
    JWIN
    JWIN DVD PLAYER
    MULTI REGION
    DVD/MP3/CDR-RW/VCD/S-VCD
    DOLBY DIGITAL 5.1 DECODER
    PARENTAL LOCK
    SUPER SLIM STYLING
    SCART LEAD SUPPLIED

    €95.95 in powercity.

    What do you think?

If you have an active sub you can pretty much place it anywhere (ie. beside your amp so your lack of cabling will not be an issue).

    Cheers Daveg,

Does the same hold true even if the amp is on MDF shelving (pretty dam solid shelving at that)

By 'active' do you mean powered?

Any opinions of the DVD player?
