Netgear MA311 is what I have, prism 2.5. Bought from http://www.dsl-warehouse.co.uk/

    Check out:

for a good list of hardware and what it's compatable with. Have a look at what smoothwall supports also (duh).

Use IPCop instead od Smoothwall, it has better hardware support.

1.3.0 is the release version, bit the 1.3.1 version (under Alpha at the moment) will have support for a "blue" zone, intended for use as a DMZ for wireless networks.

I have used both Smoothwall and IpCop, and IpCop is easier to deploy, use, and get support for. The VPN bit is also free.

Oh Yeah, I use Orinoco cards just fine, with a PCI bridge. Work fine for me.

I am using a ComReady PCI card. Cost me €64 including postage for two of them from the US.

Only windows drivers come with it, but the Linux drivers are available at LanReady . Compiled relatively easily and can be controlled by the WiFi thingy that comes with KDE.
