I reckon if UGC or UCI were sent enough requests they'd put something like this on. Preferably UGC is their new ginonomous screen.

I'd love to go to the marathon - and I know others would too. What we have to do is gather up a petition and present it to a cinema. Guaranteed bookings would do it for them. Who'd organise it though...

I know at least 20 people who would go to such an event. But i'm ****ed if i'm organising it. Someone should start one of those online petitions, and bang it around in a forward and on whatever message boards people can think of.

Where do i sign this petition!
Alas i reckon its a pipe dream !
Altough i have heard you can rent a small cinema somewhere in dublin, any ideas?
So that would be good for you and your friends to sit and watch the triology

    Just a couple of things.

    1. Online petitions are completely worthless. If I were so inclined, I'd make a joke about them "not being worth the paper they're printed on", but I'm not. Anyway.. screw online petitions.

    2. The 'cinematic marathon of the LOTR films is being put forward as a massively expensive marketing exercise. Even if the cinema manages to sell out every seat in the house for this marathon, they'll never even break even.
And don't think the owners of UCI/UGC/<other multiplex> would even listen to you if you can't show them how this will make them money.

If enough people in the Galway area were interested we could possibly run one in GMIT through the Film Society.

We will probably end up showing the films anyway just before the release of the third one in Deecember.
