Different brand names - Same machine

I know a number of big name consumer electronics companies rebadge a product made by someone else in order to "complete" their product line up. And some use different brand names in different territories.
What I'm wondering is, do Mitsubishi do any of this? I'm trying to find out if my Mitsubishi BD24DVD player has any alternative make/model no.s in order to see if it can play RCE encoded discs, or if there is a hack for it.
    Anybody know of any?

Thanks Martin. I knew it was region free but what I'm wondering is whether the RCE (region coding enhancement) discs will play in it. Is RCE meant to stop coded discs from playing in "chipped" players or does the player have to be set to the necessary region? i.e. it has to be 1,2,3,4 or 5.

Well I tried Swordfish Region 1 which was supposed to be RCE encoded (though cannot be sure as nothing is mentioned on the box, if they mention it) and it played fine on my sisters BD24DVD.

Here are some other links you might want to check:

    link2

note, swordfish is not suppose to be RCE encoded.

Hmm, you're probably right there. I am sure that when I was buying it (either Play.com or cdwow) it had said that it was RCE, though it's not mentioned on either site now. I had bought it mainly because it was supposed to be RCE so that I could test my DVD player.

Slightly OT but do RCE discs state on the box that they are indeed RCE encoded?
