I`m wondering what kind of things you would need if you decided to go back packing around the world or to parts of it on the cheap side. As this is something I would like to do when I leave school. Any tips or links much, much appreciated ;)

    One recommendation...

Dont do the cheap on hiking boots/socks or a backpack.. you will suffer if you do and it wont be nice...

If you do the cheap here then you could find yourself in trouble almost straight away as the bag might not last the travelling and may split or the boots might be a bad fit or not comfortable enuff and may cause blistering.. neither are very nice and can happen at the most inappropriate time..

Apart from that research is the key, making sure that you have the right type of gear for the country you are visiting at that particular time, ie visiting a country in the rainy season without some sort of rainproof jacket.. not very nice and not very sensible..

The basics can be found on the web..

    Rough Guide
    Lonely Planet
    HI Hostels

If you do a google on any place you're planning on visiting you can find the best things to do and places to stay, most offer discounts if you book direct instead of going through travel agents..

    Best of luck,

    Tox :)
