I am new to this gig. Where is the best place to buy your gear. Was in Greatoutdoors the other day. As you can imagine 2nd hand, to start with, is what I want, due to the initial expense. Any websites and what are the carriage charges. I am Dublin based

    Thanks

    Hi!

I buy my gear mainly from Aquaholics in Portstewart and Richard delivers free of charge in Ireland. He is on www.aquaholics.org there is also a european supplier on www.scubastore.com and a uk one on www.simplyscuba.com

I have bought from all of the above and Aquaholics has price matched most of the stuff i needed - the carriage on Simply Scuba and Scuba Store can be dear..

Not so sure on the second hand market - but I would look on www.buyandsell.net

    HTH

    Ka:-)

Yup, what daveg said. Ther are a lot of links up there to places in the UK who deal online. Just watch for the shipping charges and shop around. 99% of the time when i look for new kit i can fids it cheaper from the UK.

Second hand gear isn't the best option IMO. You should be able to rent gear wherever you go. In diving, the most expensive thing you can do is buy cheap kit.
