Trinity have a student society rifle club, you could try and contact them.

Although guns are evil so :)

I am not looking to own one, so I am now that evil.

A friend of mine was in the States last year and he went to a gun club and got try all sorts of weaponry, he said he spent most of his money on the ammunition - but he said it was in good fun

I think I misunderstood your question. Gun club's which I am referring to is if you own a shot gun & are into clay shooting or hunting, as opposed to a shooting range.

Yes my apologies, I know there are no shooting ranges in Dublin, so I thought the obvious step was to look for Gun clubs, and if being a member requires me to own a gun, then so be it

some gun clubs will allow you to fire a weapon without owning a gun as long as you go safety courses before hand (bout half hour). I don't know about dublin, but the longst rifle range in ireland is here in the midlands, pm me if ya want details.
