Ring IOL and they set it up over the phone. AFAIK they still haven't fixed the website for Anytime/BB customers.

Too much hassle. Is there anywhere on the net where i can get a free pop 3 one?

Try registering an iolfree address or something if it won't let you reg. an @iol.ie address.

I cant...same with eircom. Their systems do a test to see if your logged into an iol account or an eircom one.

As you said, they havent got the iol bb one sorted out yet.

    grrr

Are you sure about that - I created a new e-mail account on eircom.net last week from here in work, and this definitely isn't an eircom connection. (And even if you do need an eircom connection, just dial into eircom for 5 minutes while you set up the account. You can POP it from your IOLBB connection once it's set up).

Ringing them and setting it up on the phone really doen't take all that long..

Typical Oirish ISP. Vodafone's customer interface is almost entirely web-enabled, yet a dedicated ISP can't even set up a simple form where customers can register an email address.

Well there is a simple form where customers can register an email address, it's just that it checks the CLI and gets confused with broadband ones and just sends an error message rather than giving you the e-mail account.

Just ran over to Eircom.net to register my email address. A few weeks ago, i had to select a particular service but not recently...Yay

calling up to sort out an email address is just plain stupid.
