    Was anyone watching that show on UTV last night, with that prat Terry Something-or-Other, used to present the Word.

    He was showing clips of varying program, including one thing I thought I would never see, a close-up of a real person getting "nibbled" on by a shark. Quite nasty looking, the poor guy's calf muscle was completely ripped off, and the ...well I wont go into all gory detail, but it looked quite vicious indeed.

    I remember seeing a clip of people diving off a pleasure boat and then swimming over to a dingy, climbing in and when the dingy was full they would row it back over to the boat and they'd all climb back on board.

    Anyway the clip showed a bloke diving in, gets into the dingy, another bloke dives in, gets into the dingy.....then this girl dives in....and I swear it was like that scene in Jaws 2 when the shark glides in sideways and grabs your woman in front of the brody kid on the capsized boat. This huge shark glides up into view from the depths and grabs the girl. The water turned blood red, she's thrashing about, everyone watching is freaking out. The guys in the dingy row over and pull her out and her legs were a bloody mess!!!

    I always wondered why I have only ever seen that clip once? Maybe the girl withdrew permission for it to be used again. I think it was on something like "When animals attack!" I suppose they don't show it on shark documentaries because they want to get away from that stereotyping of sharks as evil monsters that Jaws helped portray resulting in people being afraid to go in the water and/or supporting the massacre of sharks.

    Nope, she didn't withdraw permission, in fact saw her yesterday or the day before on a discovery shark special, they built a mechanical hydraulic metal shark, quite life like and were using it to find out how much bite pressure the shark used to bite the girls leg off, they used sides of beef to simulate her leg, turns out it takes 900 lbs or kgs, can't remember which to cut through thigh bone in one bite. The whole thing was a bit bad taste, should of seen the look on the girls face when they were have havin a tug of war with the biting fake shark for the side of beef :(
