Just got out of the concert. seriously good. They played very well, far better than at metallica, held the crowd very well as well. One of em even did a stage dive.

very enjoyable concert, a great atmosphere. anyone else go?

Yeah, me being extremely jammy got a ticket online from ticketmaster last night at 9.30. I reckon I got the last one :D and I couldn't believe the amount of people outside begging for tickets.

Anyway, I was upstairs seated (yeah like you sit for a gig like that) at the opposite side, and although I'd a great view, the vocals weren't too good there - although from Justin's chats to the audience I reckon it was the location because the main crowd seemed to know what he was saying.

The only other spoiler for me was that they only played for 70 minutes, and I always feel cheated if its less that 90, although it was certainly a high octain 70 minutes, and Justin's "walk" around the main crowd was insane.

An amazing gig - I was right under his mic, from there everything seemed very good, but to be honest, there was so much singing from the crowd all I could really here was the crowd and not his vocals.

People were offering €200 outside for tickets - mental.

The Darkness are the funniest fookers alive !!!!! I didn't stop laughing all the way through.

I don't think we'll ever see them in such a small venue again (well at least not till they're sixty or something ;))

Woah - This concert was amazing. I was so near the front, and since the people there were small I could see the whole stage. They really put on a great show, it was short, but I couldn't ask for anything more (since they don't have much material). They played all the songs off "Permission..." (except "Holding My Own"), two B-sides and "Street Spirit" by Radiohead, which was perfect.

The only downside was The Webb Brothers not showing up, even after being confirmed. Instead we only got irish band The Subtonics, who weren't good at all.

Anyone pay outrageous prices for a ticket?

€200 for a €20 ticket...jaysus... there were loads of people wandering around trying to buy tickets, I was first asked over 500 metres away from the concert

No! I sold it about an hour before I got to Vicar Street!!! :(

At all the hell I went through trying to get rid of the 3 tickets I had spare......

I'll never buy tickets for anyone again, too much hassle!

i just don't get the appeal of the darkness - not exactly the future of rock 'n' roll now is it?

More like the past of rock'n'roll.

My reasoning behind my statement was that they have such a wide appeal now that they would easily fill a venue the size of the point if they came back.

I think they will gain more and more followers as the word gets round.

I still find them comical - certainly not the type of music I wold normally listen to, but its refreshing how funny it is. When listening to them I dont only sing along, but laugh my ass off at the same time.

Pure fun music - long live the darkness....

Like come on - the rumours are that they will have this years christmas number one and that their new album will be called "Stay away from the Light" - HA HA HA HA CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas number one.... that will be funny.... i can hear it now....
    LOL

have you actually seen em live? I was at both the metallica concert and their own gig in vicar street. they were far better at their own gig, pity they dont have too many songs, the gig was somewhat shortlived...

did anyone see the support act at vicar street?

    Jeff.
