Im not a expert in this field so im just interested to know if it can be used to receive the footie channels that pubs show?

Could conax, seca, nagravision cards etc be used on it?

That's the first time I've seen Lidl selling DVB receivers.

But...

REGIONAL OFFER - Only available from stores in the North West and East of England. Check in store for availability.

As it's only available in parts of England and excludes the rest of UK, I would doubt if they'll be in Ireland either. But you never know.

As the receiver has two CI slots, then it can use CAM's such as Conax, Irdeto, Viaccess, etc. And of course most CAM's aren't much good unless you've got an appropriate viewing card to unblock the relevant channels.

Um, the link above has Lidl UK specials (tho for the record, Lidl.ie is under construction ). I suppose www.aldi.co.uk would have Aldi UK specials. No Irish Aldi site either.

I got the Analogue system from LIDL when the offer was on, so I dont see why they wont offer it over here.

The analogue system was sold here before the UK, as it was discussed in another forum in the uk, asking weather people should buy it when it was on sale in the UK.

But the ad says it wont receive any sky channels, but it will get the FTA on sky so it is wrong in a sense, but also right to put it on the box, as not to mislead people.

Half of the people i'd say who got the analogue system expected BBC and sky from it, I only spoke to a few people on the day but they really didnt know what they were buying.

I only got it for the receiver and the old analogue one was on the blink.

Also there is 2 cam slots on this model, so the World's your oyster. (Well Europe anyway). I wouldnt say its top quality, but for €100 you can't go wrong.

By the way apart from the various cams and cards, you'll need a second dish which will have to move to the various other sat positions - it's not just a case of plugging this box into an existing Sky Dish.

You can get 3 satellites on 1 x 90cm dish using 3 LNBs and brackets. I have two sets like that.

The pubs usually have a Canal+ sub.

If it has CI slots for a CAM you buy the CAM (somtimes it has to be from Sat provider) and then the viewing card like a Sky Card goes in the CAM.

A CAM looks like a PC Laptop card.

Lidl in UK has done them a few times. I think Lidl here did do digital boxes once. Analog several times (The two receivers with a 1.2m dish was good but I had no money and Lidl don't take Check or Credit card)

Yip, had that kind of set up once - then tried one of those moving arms which moved the LNB. Have to say it worked very well until the water got in.
I assume though as the poster mentions Seca and Nagravision they'd want access to 30west along with 19.2 and 13east.
Might be worth pointing out too that the Dutch Canal + package will be dropping Irdeto 1 encryption from Nov 14th.

Sorry it all kinda trailed into one there!!

I meant the new digital receiver they are selling now will get the FTA channels, like BBC, S4C, Shopping etc.......but not the SKY channels or any subscription channels...as it has no videoguard cam in it.

and secondly you can't get a video guard cam.i anyone knows where you can get one please tell me!!
