Sky Movie Channels

I see that Sky are rebranding the movie channels to Sky Movies1-9.
Why do they have to continually mess around with these channels ?
Before there were 2 premieres per week on Sky Premier and 2 on Moviemax.
They were on Monday,TuesdayThursday and Saturday nights.
Now there doesnt seem to be any pattern to when a premiere is shown.
I wonder is this new 'rebranding' a plan to further dilute the number of premieres per week ?
Sky are also keen to have more 'Themed Weekend',which is an excuse to rehash old films which dont deserve to be on a premium channel.
Any film over 5 years old should not be on a premium channel.
We have terrestrial channels to do that for us.
    What do ye think ?

I would rather older stuff than seeing the same film shown 4 times a week!

Sky Cinema is a bogus channel and doesn't show any really good films, one every now and again.

They should have a movie channel for the 90s films and one for the 80s films, i think that would be interesting rather than seeing constant repeats!

I've lost track of the amount of times the changed their names.

BTW its only Moviemax & Premier which will be changed to Sky Movies 1,2,3, etc. there will still be a Sky Cinema 1 & 2.

Ah, I wouldn't say that now. Depends on your taste. There are a few movies on Cinema this weekend that I'd probably watch if I had it. Never really watched anything on Moviemax.

There is a few decent films and old stuff i would watch again but overall cinema is a big dissapointment.

In fair i wouldn't watch alot of movie channels as i have seen them all on dvd way before they come on sky! I watch alot of the made for TV pass an hour stuff.

Hmmmmm. I wonder how this will affect Sky+? At the moment, Sky Premier and Sky Moviemax count as two channels and if you take them both you don't have to pay the extra sub for Sky+. If they merge the two, however, will they still count as two or will people who took Sky+ on the basis they had two movie packages suddenly find themselves facing an extra 20 euro per month?
