Eircom issue

Could anyone on eircom (dsl or isdn) have a look at this thread and see what you think

Yep I'm getting it as well. i'm on isdn. It's not like like lag I've experienced before and I almost never lagged since i got isdn anyway.

Yep, i am getting this also. Same issue, but a diffferent game. I play Everquest, but what you describe is identical to mine. Happens more frequently the longer i play, and EQ sessions can be long.

On DSL Solo package. I don't play any games but my VoIP phone seems to work fine any time I use it and what you describe would really kill it.

everyone i know who has eircoms adsl package is having this problem, it just stops recieving and sending packets for about 15seconds then resumes.

This really pi**es me off.

I have been getting this from day 1 and Eircom nohelp desk can do nothing.

It's unrelated to Virus/Firewall as I have removed both and it made no difference.

Odd thing is - when the browser or game is frozen, I can still ping a site !!

Playing Quake yesterday and regular drop outs - drove me nuts.

Eircom - I know you read the boards - at least let us know what the problem is even if you cannot fix it.

myself and two other lads ( all on eircom ) have been getting network disconect icons when playing rtcw on xbox live a lot over the last week , we normally all play on the same server and when we lag we all lag at the same time for about ten sec's , but we can still talk to each other , then it clears up for us at the same time. this problem has only started in the last week or so for us.

i would encourage everyone to ring the eircom helpdesk about this.

I cancelled my netsource connection a couple of weeks ago and am now awaiting to get Istream starter installed. I've started using my Isdn Indigo connection again after not using it for about a year. I used to get extremely stable and low pings from indigo, but now the pings are low but I noticed that the last time I was playing the game I was getting lagged out (completely frozen) for about 6 seconds, then all of a sudden the ping went back to normal. It happened about 8 or 9 times in aprox 40mins of play

rang eircom and got the " we don't support xbox live story " fair enough . now i have to direct connect my pc to my modem , which is downstairs B4 they can check my connection.

so i think i will install a game on my pc and play test it out B4 i ring them back , just to be safe as it's 74cents per min:eek:

has anyone else rang up ? and what did they tell you ?

2 of my mates who play cs and wc3 have both been vaing this prob their on dsl i stream from eircom . they rang eircom upa dn eircom told them that they have ahad a number of calls and are doing their best to sort it out.

i just called dsl tech support and the guy said he wasnt aware of it :rolleyes:

Ill just ring every day untill i get someone who knows about it.

i got eircom dsl and the same thing happens to me (santry exchange). this started happening maybe a week ago, the downloads are still super-fast (50+ kb/s) but i've noticed battle.net starts lagging for a few seconds, and then goes back to normal. it happens a couple of times each game, maybe once ever 5-10 minutes.

i'm playing warcraft iii, which will lock down and allow a player up to 45 seconds before kicking them out, so it's just annoying but still playable. everybody else hates me as i'm lagging the whole game

i've also noticed in work that the internet connection grinds down to a halt at times. (also eircom data network)

i didn't think much of it until i saw all the posts here. we better pick up the phone and start ringing tech support!

yeh seems to be ok tonight , i re-installed delta force land warrior yesterday and played a few games and got " connection interrupted" every 5 mins and it lasted for 7/10 secs each time ,
tried it again tonight and not a prob so far , been playing for 3 hours
