No Spanish Channels on Sky

Someone in this board put a thread, about Spanish Channel coming on Octouber first, today I phone them and I was told that no Spanish Channels, no even in plan.

Brazilian channel to debut on Sky Digital
A Brazilian channel has been seen carrying out test transmissions on Sky Digital at 11.390GHz/H with the identity 'vm2y'. Reports suggest that this is a Brazilian terrestrial station called Record International, a general entertainment channel. No details of an official launch have been announced. [Sep 25]

If you go to Services >> System Setup >> Languages & Subtitles, you can in here, change your preferred language to Spanish. Now you have Euronews in Spanish. Unfortuntely, I think EUronews is the only channel to broadcast with Spanish as well as English audio.

i heard the Sky show WWE PPV's with a spanish sound track on the narrative option. haven't heard it though

I got the Brazilian Channel, Thanks, they speak in portuges, so I do not understand much.

If you really want Spanish TV buy a FTA digital receiver with at least 2 CI's as you might want to use a Cam later. Then get at least a 1 meter dish and point it 30 degrees west to a bird called Hispasat, look here. Maybe some of the lads will tell you the dish size as I'm in Belgium.Try this thread

Hotbird has some spanish too

I have Hispasat it isn't much (less than Sky) without a sub. Apparently some good channels on sub though.

TVEi is FREE on Hotbird. Like TV5 is FREE everyplace except Sky

If Sky have it you will have to pay. Get a 2nd LNB (As cheap as £10) and a manual LNB Switch from www.satcure.co.uk for Digibox.

On a 70cm/80cm/90cm dish you can point dish at Hotbird and put a bracket to side about 5" to left/West face dish front for Sky, even using the minidish LNB. Or have two separate dishes.

Once it setup add up to 25 or so Hotbird (or Astra1 @19E if you choose) on Sky "Other Channels"

I have 3LNBs on a 80cm dish on digibox with switch for LNB (at dish and "remote control" wire was telephone wire). Let me have Astra1 @19E and HotBird @ 13E

Spanish Television channel TVE is set for a UK launch come October. It will be the first channel in Spanish on the Sky platform, after the debut of the French channel TV5 in October of last year. The deal was struck last month between the two broadcasters and will complement the French offering. Like TV5, TVE International will be part of the Sky Family Pack. An official announcement of the channel was made yesterday (9th August 2003).
TVE will be launching on Sky Digital on 1st October 2003.

09/10/03 TVEi launch date announced
The Spanish national broadcaster, TVE Internacional, have stated that they will, after a short delay, be launching on the Sky Digital platform on 3rd November 2003. The EPG number has yet to be announced, but is likely to be EPG 831 or 833. The channel will be part of the Sky Family Package. The article from TVE states that another European broadcaster, Deutche Welle (DW-tv) will also be launching on the Sky Digital platform shortly. The article states that TV5, TVE and DW are being put on the Sky platform to aid students learning a foriegn language in the UK. We'll bring you more on the TVE and DW story as soon as we get it.
