My A Drive has "died" but Windows does'nt know!

Weird **** is happening, today for the first time in ages I tried to use the floppy drive to fix a problem I did'nt have (as it turned out) When I slip a disk in I can hear the drive whiring but that distinctive click when the drive seeks the disk data never happens.

Yet as far as windows hardware properites is concerned all is well and good. Any ideas how to kick start a floppy drive?

    Mike.

Try set the machine to boot off the FDD and put a disk in... if it's working then you'll get the message saying that the OS wasn't found :) (well, as long as you don't use a boot floppy)

That'd tell you if it's windows or the drive itself that's borked.

Oh and try more than one disk, I hate them, they screw up lots.
