Picked this up in game on dawson street (dublin) for €20 squid, just thought i'd let others know cause it was a good deal

they good have a few left, considering forbidden planet charge over 30

i thought the dubbing was horrible on it. and did your copy's sound lag behind? eg. guns fire and few miliseconds later (noticeable amount) the sound of the guns firing appears...

i have the special edition version ordered from splashdvd.com
got it for €17 or €18 i think

I have a region one copy I got a few years back and it doesnt exhibit any of those problems.

By the way; Shirow Masamune-Production I.Gs spin-off series (actually a prequel to the film), Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex, is frickin' brilliant ... the script and production values for each episode are top notch.

I have to agree the series is much better than the movie, i can't wait till the rest of the series comes out.. It's a lot closer to the manga than the movie is

Afaik all region 2 versions have a synch problem.
There was a new special edition released but I think that it still might have the same problem.

The Japanese region 2 may not be affected though. Region 1 has no synch problems.

Regarding the series, I prefer it to the film. I think the film is over-rated tbh.

the game was on the ps1, i remember playing a demo of it yonks ago...
the demo involved stomping around the gaff in a spider tank iirc

I never really enjoyed the movie. It had a few cool scenes, but the sound was awful on my copy, and the plot seemed like nothing special...

It was great back when it first came out. At that stage there was feck all decent animation to be had apart from Akira and disney.

just to clear the air. the sound of the gunfire in ghost in the shell is meant to be a few miliseconds after due to the fact that light travels faster than sound and its creators were aiming for realism, even though it is a tad annoyin.
but otherwise ghost in the shell, excellent movie, highly recommended.
20 euro in game, that's a bargain. i paid close to 40 in forbidden planet about a yr ago.

umm....no. considering that people who have region 1 dont have this problem. and that it happens with speech and general sound in general....
