Some recent correspondance with Radio 1

    Hi,

Just a quick note, I am not really sure what I
am expecting, but I thought I
    had better comment regardless.
I am an avid listener to the Sunday Playhouse,
    it and Playback are highlight
    of my Sunday Evening,
I would usually would be in the car at this time
    and Radio1 keeps me going.

But I need to ask, what on earth was last
    sunday's play all about ?
I mean I actually turned it off five minutes
before the end it was so bad,
I tolerated the Grecian classics that have been
    on recently,
but last weeks was bad beyond words. Please lets
    have something more
    secular this week !

    Regards

    Ray Kinsella

    Dear Ray

The play you refer to is "The Strange Case Of The Great
Crested Canary" by Pat McCabe, which was broadcast on
    Sunday 14th September.

Pat McCabe is a highly-esteemed contemporary Irish
writer, but his work is not of the mainstream and I
accept the fact that it did not appeal to your tastes.
We endeavour to present a wide and diverse range of
programming for our "Sunday Playhouse" listeners and I
hope you will enjoy the choices we offer.

Thank you for taking the trouble to contact us - all
    feedback is very much welcomed.

    Best wishes
    Radio 1
