It is my belief that retro will soon cease to be, and will thus have a re-birth in afew years... well at least the retro we know now.

why? well just look at the top presents for christmas 2003.... the turtles, care bears, games compolations (like the atari joystick you can buy with bricks etc). Also look at phone games. My phone has a version of prince of persia on it, classic retro.
Clothing has also tripped back to the 80s, while music is now stealing all good songs from the 70s and 80s and adding a new beat..... although this isnt new.

not really a thesis, just an observation..

so shut down this forum for a while.... or talk about yugioh and pokemon, the new retro

I think at one point there were plans to revive the Commodore 64? If it hasn't been done already...

It's all a matter of semantics really. However, as long as there are old farts like me, there will always be someone viewing things RETROspectively.

Cool, I'll have mine and its tape drive, disk drive and printer waiting for the day it happens :)

    It is what it's.

Ah in about five years we'll be looking back on stuff that we wore/ate/watched/impersonated and think, "God that is sooooo Retro".
It was in the Lion King (or some other Disney masterpiece) that Elton John wailed:
    "The Circle...the Circle of Life"
