Does anyone know of a way to get CM2 to work in Win2000 or Win XP?

    Cheers

you could try the compatabiltiy mode. Right click on the .exe file in the cm folder and there should be a tab menu called compability along there. Click on and and set it up to be run as windows 98 or whatever.

Let me know how you get on.

    Hi Mate

You should try some of the newer versions, much better, i have a spare copy of CM3 and i think i have CM 99/00 somewhere, urs for nothing if you want them! I remember 98, easy to get great players by picking up young players listed in loan section at start of season.

I can't play CM4, my computer is useless but i hear it is a thrill a minute.

Let me know if you want it

    Cheers lads.

I picked up CM3 when it came out but I just didn't like it anyway near as much as CM2. CM3 doesn't run in Win2000 either (it's NT based)...

I tried the compatibility mode thing in XP but couldn't get any results... It looks like it's gonna work, but then it let's you down and it takes ages to kill it.

Dammit, looks like I'll have to take the 98 machine back out again. Damn Microsoft, dman them to Hell,

My friend has no problems running CM3 on Windows XP, with no compatibility options selected or anything (he wouldn't even know how to set up the compatibility mode :p). What happens when you try and play it?

Anyway, you should think about getting a new PC maybe :p You can get half decent ones for around €700 from Dell at the moment :)

It won't even run through the setup, comes up with the NT based OS message and quits.

I can't go to XP, I have a load of music software that's not compatible with it. As I said, damn Microsoft. Besides, my PC is only 6 months old, I ain't buying a new one for a while.

I'd rather get CM2 running anyway.:)

XP has basically taken out dos functionality..

So since CM2 and 97/98 are dos games your out of luck I think..

Had the same problems and couldn't survive without CM 97/98.
Easy solution, install Windows 98 as a second operating system on your PC. Whenever the PC boots it will ask you to select your operating system. Simple to do, and will not upset WIN2K
