Went to see this in the sony metreon in san francisco when I was there during the summer; utterly unbelievable, almost like seeing it for the first time again.

You notice so many details that you'd miss on a normal cinema screen and the sound system in the IMAX theatre (THX ultra I think) adds another level of depth to the film. The freeway chase sequence in particular looks completly different, almost had me dodging those oncoming cars and trucks when Trinity went the wrong way down the freeway :)

Brilliant stuff; I think it might be running in some of the IMAX theatres in London, if you're in that part of the world check it out. Makes me wish we still had an IMAX cinema in this country :( ... are UGC opening up the old Sheridan one again?

I was in the IMAX in New York with the 3D Goggles... Watched a movie on various sea life, though the sharks were gonna get me... Amazing 3d affect...

Was in the one near the Grand Canyon as well with a movie about the grand canyon that was amazing aswell (not 3d just regualr huge screen).

I saw the imax version of this film in america as well. I wasn't impressed that much. The film isn't meant for imax and it shows. The screen is displayed much smaller than any of the other imax films and doesn't take up a lot of the screen. Also it seemed a little grainy and blurry. It was also much easier to see the through the special effects on the imax screen, the non-digital agent smiths at the very start of the agent smith brawl looked really fake. However the sound was awesome and the opening scene with trinity falling out the window just blew me away.

The best IMAX films I've seen are the NASA ones in Florida.

I saw one about the Nile when I was in New York.
It was a fantastic experience, you're almost really there due to your senses being so full.
I had to catch a train, so missed the one about dinosaurs. :(

Ditto.... I've been to Cape Canaveral twice and saw 2 different IMAX/3D movies. The one in London is good 2. Also saw the living sea (not sure if that was the name - Sting did the soundtrack and Meryl Streep narrated) in Bradford in the photography/IMAX museum. Twas excellent.

Yeah i've seen the ones at JFK space centre too. Infact thats the only place i've seen a IMAX but it was sooo unbelivably brialliant. I would really love to see the matrix on it on, and LOTR would be be good to see on it too!
